One arrested for offering bribe to Patkelghata OC
Police yesterday arrested a quack for offering Tk 3,000 bribe to the officer in charge (OC) of Patkelghata police station (PS), police said.
The arrestee is Dr Ashok Kumar Dey, 45, of Kumira village in Tala upazila, they said.
Ashok went to Patkelghata police station to request OC Pradeep Majumdar to stop construction of an office being built near Kumira bus stand by Kumira Betel Leaf Association at about 10 am. As soon as he offered bribe, the OC arrested him.
On contact, Satkhira superintendent of police (SP) Mirza Abdullahel Baki confirmed the incident.
