Notorious pirate sent to jail in Khulna
A notorious pirate of the Sundarbans who was arrested here under Arms Act on Friday was sent to jail yesterday, police said.
A shutter gun, five live cartridges and two pistols were recovered from possession of the arrestee, Rabiul Islam of Maharajpur union in Koira upazila
Koira officer-in-charge (OC) Ali Azam said Rabiul was wanted in connection with four murders and eight other criminal cases including extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
While talking to this correspondent, the OC said a few fish traders of Natun bazaar here harbour pirates who move in guise after committing crimes in the Sundarbans.
