UP chairman suspended in Rangpur
Kursha Union Parisad (UP) chairman Shahinur Rahman Marshal was suspended yesterday for his alleged involvement in corruption.
At per directives of the Local Government Ministry, Taraganj upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mizanur Rahman issued the suspension letter and served a notice to Shahinur, also secretary of Taraganj upazila BNP.
Earlier, the ministry investigated the matter by forming a three-member committee. The committee was formed after a local lodged a complaint against the UP leader.
The committee found the allegations to be true and asked local administration to take action against him, the UNO said.
