Faridpur BNP leader held in party man murder case

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday arrested Faridpur BNP leader Zillur Rahman Zahid alias Dada Bhai for his alleged link in the murder of Faidpur town BNP president and district unit vice-president Liakat Ali Khan. A CID team from Dhaka arrested Dada Bhai at around 11 am from his business farm M/s Taj Motors in the town. He was leader of central Zia Parishad and president of Faridpur JASUS. Liakat was killed at a community center in the capital where he went to attend a wedding party on April 7, 2004. Liakat's brother Jahangir Ali Khan filed a case with Dhanmond police station in Dhaka. Later the case was transferred to CID. Source said, Zillur Rahman was arrested on the basis of confessional statement made recently by arrested top terror Emon. Khondoker Zakir Hossen , second officer of Kotwali police station, said a CID team informed us over telephone that they had arrived Faridpur to arrest Dada Bhai.
