Vulnerable women
I felt so sorry to learn that five women were slaughtered at Mehendiganj in Barisal. Such heinous crimes are still committed in our society. It is an example of how vulnerable women are in this male-dominated society. Repression on women is increasing day by day. In June 2008, 333 crimes were committed against women, among them 73 were rape cases and 9 acid throwing.
I would request the government to take stern action against the elements engaged in women bashing.
