All four units of Kaptai Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP), lone hydroelectric power project of the country, are now in full operation while another one is still under repair. The four units are generating 120 MW of electricity. At present, water level in the lake is 75 Means Sea Level (MSL). The plant started generating electricity from last week and is now generating 120 megawatt (MW) of electricity. KHPP produced 40 MW electricity only in last dry season due to fall in water in the lake to 64 MSL, KHPP sources said. KHPP normally generates 230 MW of electricity but it produced 280 MW electricity last year as water level rose sharply in the lake due to heavy downpour.
