Punish those who belittled Liberation War, speakers say
Pabna district unit command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad at a protest meeting yesterday demanded punishment of 'Muktijoddha Parishad' leaders for their derogatory comments about the principals of Liberation War.
“The so-called freedom fighters' organisation has made an offence by speaking maliciously about the principles of the Liberation War. So they must be punished,” speakers said at the protest meeting arranged on the premises of the office of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad in the town.
The people of the country are united about the demand for punishment of the war criminals, speakers said at the meeting.
Commander of Pabna district unit command of Muktijoddha Parishad, Abdul Latif Salim chaired the protest meeting while the unit's deputy commander Mojaffar Hossain, freedom fighters Md Abdur Rashid Rashu, Md Tofazzal Hossain Monju, advocate Md Azizul Haque and Motin Ahmed Zinnah spoke, among others.
Jatiya Muktijoddha Parishad, a Jamaat-backed organisation, had arranged a meeting in the capital on Friday, where speakers made malicious comments about the principles of Liberation War.
