Govt fails to prove graft charges against Kamran, says Suranjit
Awami League (AL) presidium member Suranjit Sengupta said the government failed miserably to prove corruption charges brought against Sylhet Mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran even after14 months of his arrest.
Suranjit was addressing an electoral campaign in favour of the detained mayor at Choukidekhi here Friday night.
'Kamran was put inside bar ignoring people's mandate given to him time and again', he said. 'All the allegations brought against him are baseless and not worth believing', he said.
The AL central leader called upon the city dwellers to elect Kamran once again to foil any conspiracy to create the crisis of leadership in Sylhet.
