All lights on Patuakhali Bridge out of order
All 70 sodium lights installed on Patuakhali Bridge have gone out of order due to lack of maintenance within three years of its inauguration in 2005.
Traffic on the bridge has now become risky at night. Accident may occur any moment on the bridge, built over the Patuakhali river on Patuakhali-Barisal road.
R&H Department constructed the 485 metre long and 10 metre wide bridge over the river on Patuakhali-Barisal road at a cost of Tk 27.50 crore on November 29, 2005.
When contacted, R&H sub-divisional engineer Md Shamim Al Mamun said they are unable to activate the lights due to lack of fund.
