4 to die for gangrape, killing mother, daughter
A Rajshahi Court yesterday sentenced four persons to death in a double murder case at Dhuapara under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi.
Judge ATM Mesbauddollah of Speedy Trial Tribunal also fined the convicts Tk 1 lakh each.
The convicts are Tariqul Islam, Ismail Hossain, Muktar Hossain and Sonaruddin of Dhuapara village.
They gangraped t Niliara Begum and slaughtered her daughter Parvin as she saw the incident on October 20, 2006.
They also slaughter Niliara Begum at the same time.
Rafiqul Islam, father of victim Niliara Bagum, filed a murder case with Godagari Police Station the day after the incident against Tariqul Islam, Ismail Hossain, Muktar Hossain.
Police submitted charge sheet on February 27, 2007, accusing the four persons.
After examining 19 witnesses, judge pronounced the verdict in a crowed courtroom.
Three out of four of the accused were on the dock during delivery of the verdict. Mustar Hossain is absconding.
