Newly floated ex-MPs forum says in Khulna
'Ex-lawmakers' Forum, Bangladesh', a newly floated body comprising former lawmakers of Jatiya Party, at a press conference here yesterday said the August 4 city corporation elections would be an acid test for the nation.
If honest candidates are not elected as mayors and councilors, the country will revert to the previous situation and money and muscle power will again control politics. .at Khulna Press Club yesterday.
Central joint secretary of the Forum and ex-lawmaker from Luxmipur Mohammodullah and some other former lawmakers addressing the press conference held at Khulna Press Club.
They called upon voters to elect honest and dedicated persons irrespective of political affiliations.
The member-secretary of the Forum and ex-lawmaker from Kishoreganj Latif Bhuiyan said the Forum would support continuation of state of emergency for holding local body, upazila and parliamentary elections in a free and fair manner.
The Forum has 51member, all ex-lawmakers of Jatiya Party.
