3 outlaws get life for killing rival
Satkhira Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court sentenced three cadres of the outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) to suffer life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) yesterday for killing their rival.
The convicts are Zahidul Islam and Syed Ferdous of Atarai village in Tala upazila and Sheikh Kabirul Islam of Kashimnagar village in Paikgachha upazila, Khulna, court sources said.
Of them, Syed Ferdous is absconding, they said.
Each of them was fined Tk 20,000, in default, to suffer six months more RI.
The convicts abducted their rival Narim Ali Sardar of Atarai village in Tala upazila following an internal conflict on March 18, 2003. Since then, Narim remained untraced.
Victim's wife Sakhina Khatun filed a case with Kaliganj Police Station.
Police framed charge against the culprits on January 19, 2004.
