Imposter held
Police arrested a fake major when he was threatening a businessman near Laldighi yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Gani, 48, of Shovondandy in Patiya upazila.
Introducing himself as a major, Gani threatened a trader named SS Ahmed at his office near Laldighi saying he used to receive money from another trader named Syed Nur of Reazuddin Bazar.
On suspicion, Ahmed informed the matter to the Detective Branch (DB) of police who arrested Gani.
On interrogation, the arrestee confessed to his guilt to DB. Later, he was handed over to Kotwali police.
