BSF returns bodies of 2 Bangladeshis
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned bodies of two Bangladeshi nationals yesterday morning, eleven days after the incident.
The two deceased are Jainal Abedin, 35, son of Bhazu Mondal of Shukpukuria village under Chowgachha upazila, and Rezaul Islam, 32, son of Nazir Uddin of the same village.
Following a flag meeting between Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and BSF on Moshshampur border, the BSF handed over the two bodies to BDR at 10:30am yesterday.
A few Bangladeshi citizens were moving about at Moshshampur inside Indian territory near Kulia border under Chowgachha upazila in Jessore early morning on July 19 when the BSF opened fire, leaving the two persons dead on the spot while others managed to flee.
BSF kept the bodies at Bonghau hospital after autopsy.
