3km human chain for new upazila
Hundreds of people yesterday formed a three-kilometre human chain at Fakirhat of Pabnapur union in Palashbari upazila with a demand for setting up a new upazila there.
They demanded of the government to form the new upazila consisting of eight unions of Nakai, Harirampur, Taluk Kanupur in Gobindaganj upazila and Pabnapur, Monoharpur, Harinathpur, Bedkapa in Palashbari upazila and Padumshaher in Shaghata upazila.
Later, a meeting was held at Fakirhat Shaheed Smrity Degree College ground. Upazila Implementation Committee leaders Principal Shahnur Fazitlatunnessa, Jaridul Huq and others addressed.
