Frozen food trader sent to jail in cheating case
A Satkhira court yesterday sent a businessman to jail as he appeared before the court with bail prayer in the case filed against him for cheating Tk one crore.
Earlier on June 15, the court issued warrant of arrest against Ahsan Habib Bappi, managing director of Penguin Sea food Ltd at Shyamnagar, as he did not appear before the court on the date fixed for hearing in the case.
Judge Ashish Ranjan Das of the District and Sessions Judge's Court yesterday passed the order rejecting his bail prayer in the case filed with Shyamnagar Police Station on April 17.
The complainant Akram Hossain, proprietor of Mayer Doa Fish Ltd alleged that Bappi gave him several cheques but those were dishonoured by banks.
