ACC sues Narail mayor, 26 others
Jessore Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Thursday night filed several cases against Narail Pourasabha mayor Advocate Sohrab Hossain Biswas and 26 others including public representatives, officials and contractors of the municipality on charge of misappropriating Tk. 32 lakh 87 thousand 122 and other corruptions.
Jessore ACC deputy director Wajed Ali Gazi filed the case with Narail Police Station on charge of corruptions including misappropriation of funds of municipality markets, irregularities in construction of roads and markets, grabbing lease money of pourasabha 'hat' and bazaars and making fake bills and vouchers against fake projects.
The 26 persons who were sued are Khandaker Al Monsur Billah, poura councilors Epi Rani Biswas , Saiful Islam, Rafikul Islam, Joynti Rani Halder, Zahangir Biswas, Razibul Islam, Kazal Lata, Sharful Alam Litu, Ahmed Ali Khan, Talait Hossain and Sayed Mushfikur Rahman Bachchu, former assistant engineer Ozihur Rahman, ex-official Motiar Rahman, ex-assistant engineer Nazir Ahmed, sub-assistant engineer Alauddin Mina, contractor Anisuzzaman and contractors Abdul Mukit Lablu, Tazir Ahmed, Radha Rani Kundu, Bablu Basu, Ezazul Islam Babu, Sohel Rana Palash, Rubel Miah, Toufikur Rahman Mamun and Zillur Rahman.
