BCL demands punishment of Shibir men
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders at Rajshahi University yesterday met acting Vice Chancellor Prof Mamnunul Keramat at his office and demanded punishment of Islami Chhatra Shibir activists who assaulted the VC on the campus on Friday.
The BCL leaders also informed the VC that Shibir cadres, with the help of outsiders, earlier beat up their fellow activists at different dormitories and ousted them.
Shibir is creating violence on the campus as the earlier RU administration patronised them and never took any action for their unruly acts, the BCL leaders told the VC.
When contacted the VC said he assured BCL leaders of a fair investigation into Friday's incident and action against persons responsible.
