Memo to VC for punishment of Shibir men
Rajshahi University (RU) unit of Progotishil Chhatra Jote (PCJ) yesterday demanded punishment to Islami Chhatra Shibir activists who assaulted the acting vice chancellor (VC) of the university, Prof Mamnunul Keramat on Friday.
PCJ leaders ventilated their demands by submitting a memorandum to the acting VC at his office. They urged the university authorities to take action for immediate arrest and punishment to the culprits.
Their other demands included measures to ensure security of life of teachers and general students on the campus, arrest to snatchers and eve teasers and proper lighting system on the campus.
A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to proctor Enamul Haque.
Signatories to the memorandum are Roksana Parvin, general secretary of the university unit of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Tusher Kanti Das, general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Union and Monjurul Islam, general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation.
