Doctor's negligence alleged
A woman died after she gave birth to twin babies at Popular Hospital in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Sunday night due to alleged negligence by the doctor who conducted a caesarean operation on her.
Nargis Akhter, 35, wife of Akkas Ali Sarker, area manager of Grameen Krishi Foundation in Thakurgaon, and an inhabitant of Akkalpur town in Joypurhat district, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning, police and family members said.
She gave birth to twin babies in a caesarean operation. But she started bleeding profusely after the delivery and died at about 11:30pm.
Her family members said that the doctor did not take precautionary measures like blood group test and reserving blood bag before the operation. The patient's relatives and agitating people laid seize to the hospital. Police brought the situation under control in the morning.
