Ex-UP chairman held for offering bribe to Rab
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a former union parishad chairman and his two companions for trying to bribe Rab members in Pabna Rab camp on Tuesday.
The arrestees are Tarek Ali Mridha, former chairman of Ataikula union parishad (UP), Uzzal Hossain, 28, of village Saradangi and Md Solaiman, 30, of village Puthigari in Ataikula under Pabna district.
The former UP chairman accompanied by the two others went to Pabna Rab camp on Tuesday and tried to bribe Rab officials for release of his son Ayub Ali Mridha who was arrested by Rab on Monday following an extortion case, Rab said.
