Agri staff held for fertilizer scam
Joint forces arrested an agriculture official of Pirganj upazila on charge of irregularities in disbursing fertiliser on Wednesday night.
AKM Golam Rasul, assistant agriculture officer of Shanerhat union of the upazilla, distributed 300 bags of TSP among the farmers but showed 350 bags of fertilizer in the record, police said.
The accused was sent to Chief Judicial Magistrate's court Rangpur on Thursday and the court ordered sending him to jail.
