CU BCL announces blockade from today
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) unit yesterday announced an indefinite blockade on the university campus from today to press home their eight-point demand including punishment to the attackers on their mourning procession on Saturday.
The BCL took the decision in a meeting at Sholoshahar yesterday afternoon, said a press release signed by BCL CU unit General Secretary Ershad Hossain and Senior Vice President Abul Mansur Jamshed.
Their demands include cancellation of the Syndicate decision to expel four of their activists, unconditional release of their arrested party men, ensuring treatment and expenditure of the BCL men who were injured during Saturday's attack, removal of the probe committee comprising teachers 'loyal to Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP', resignation of CU vice chancellor and proctor, removal of Hathazari Police Station officer-in-charge and punishment to the attackers.
