Nilphamari OC, SI withdrawn
Nilphamari Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Selim and sub-inspector (SI) Yamin Ali have been withdrawn on charge of illegal arrest and torture on trader Sazzadur Rahman Roman, also a contractor and police ration supplier here on August 12, police said.
The action was taken as per order of deputy inspector general (DIG) of police of Rajshahi range Mokhlesur Rahman.
The additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Nilphamari yesterday confirmed the report of their withdrawal.
The incident triggered series of spontaneous protests by local people.
