Doctor among 4 sued in Satkhira
Four people including a physician were sued in connection with a rape incident occurred at Matiadanga village in Sadar upazila Tuesday night.
The accused are Mizanur Rahman alias Mosto of Motherbaria village in Assassuni upazila, Mortun Sardar of Matiadanga village in Sadar upazila, Dr Bipin Bihari Sarkar, a physician and a clinic owner named Bidhan Chandra Mondal of Satkhira town.
The case was filed with Satkhira Sadar Police Station on Sunday for raping a 10-year- old girl. Of the accused, Dr Bipin and Bidhan were sued for allegedly damaging rape evidences in a bid to save the rapist.
The minor girl is now fighting for life at Satkhira Sadar Hospital, hospital and police sources said.
On arrival at his relative's house at Matiadanga, Mizanur Rahman called the victim out of her house. He took her to a nearby bush where he raped her leaving a pool of blood, locals and police said.
Later, the rapist and his accomplices took her to a private clinic here secretly. The clinic owner helped them in the wrong doing, police said.
The clinic's physician, Dr Bipin operated upon her without informing police, sources said.
Being informed, police raided the clinic and shifted the victim to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for better treatment. But the accused are absconding, police said.
When contacted, Satkhira Sadar Police Station officer- in-charge Abdul Kader Beg said they trying to arrest the culprits.
