Concert for FFs' children cancelled in Kishoreganj
Kishoreganj district administration has cancelled their permission to hold a cultural programme organised by Muktijuddher Prajanma (Liberation War Generation) in a new stadium of Kishoreganj today following opposition from Kishoreganj Imam Olama Parishad.
The programme was arranged to collect fund including that for a scholarship project for the children of freedom fighters and Kishoreganj district administration on September 23 gave permission for the programme following an application by Md Mazharul Islam, president of the organisation.
Popular singer Momtaj Begum and Close-up One stars were invited in the programme.
Kishoregnaj Imam Olama Parishad on Sunday declared their 'protest activities' and submitted a memorandum to cancel the cultural programme and Kishoreganj district administration cancelled permission for the function.
Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner ASM Mahbubul Alam said the cultural programme was cancelled to avert deterioration of law and order.
