Mother's appeal to CA
Mother of slain young man at a press conference at Metropolitan Press Club in the city yesterday sought intervention of the chief adviser for arrest and punishment of the killers.
Local influential people killed Golam Baida, 25, during the daytime on May 25 this year as he was an eyewitness of a paddy stealing incident, said Baida's mother Gulnahar Bagum, 55, of village Namazgram under Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi.
“The day after the killing, my younger son Shriatullah filed a case with Bagrama Police Station against local influential people Sajjad Hossain, Janbux, Alamgir Mondol, Saker Ali, Halim and Kashem. But investigation officer of the case Sub-Inspector (SI) Narayan Chandra Sarker destroyed the allegation copy and wrote a case statement in his own ways,” she said in written statement at the press conference.
“On August 20, we submitted a written allegation to Rajshahi Superintendent of Police who later visited the spot".
The killers are still moving freely and my younger son Shriatullah. A GD has been filed, she said.
She urged the caretaker government chief and concerned authorities to take steps for immediate arrest and punishment of her son's killers.
When contacted, Sajjad Hossain refused the allegation of his involvement in the killing and said some outsiders killed Gulnahar's son.
Bagrama Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahabuddin Khalifa said, “We are neutrally investigating the case.”
