3-member panel of BCC mayors elected
Barisal City Corporation (BCC) councilors yesterday elected a three-member panel of mayors.
They are Md Altaf Mahamud Sikider, councilor of Ward No 21, A K M Shahidullah, councilor of Ward No 12 and Sayeda Aysha Luna (reserved seat).
The panel will conduct mayoral duties in order of preference in absence of the mayor.
Ten councilors contested in the election.
When contacted, BCC Chief Executive Officer Mehedi Hasan said 39 out of 40 councilors cast their vote.
