3 babies die of pneumonia in Gaibandha
Three children died here yesterday and over 150 others were attacked with pneumonia that broke out in an epidemic form in the district.
The victims are Arefa,14, daughter of Feroj Hossain of Thutapukur village in Palashbari upazila, Likhon,2, son of Jaharul Huq of Mohipur village and a seven-day-old infant of Faruk Mia at Uttar Mandua village, both of Sadullapur upazila.
Meanwhile, at least 36 pneumonia-attacked children have been admitted to Giabandha Sadar Hospital within three days, hospital sources said.
Change in season and post-flood situation are reasons behind outbreak of the disease, said an on-duty physician.
