'Don't harass left leaders in name of hunting outlaws'
Leaders and activists of Gonotrantrik Baam Morcha, (democratic left alliance) in Rajshahi yesterday urged the authorities not to 'harass' their leaders in the name of hunting outlaws.
Morcha leaders at a press conference at Bangladesh Samajtrantrik Dal (BSD) office here urghed law enforcing agencies and influential political leaders in Bagrama upazila were harassing Morcha Rajshahi coordinator Aminul Haque, a resident of Bangmara and probable candidate in the upcoming upazila election.
Morcha central coordinator advocate Abdus Salam in a written statement said, in 2004, when JMB leader Bangla Bhai launched terrorism in Bagmara, its activists identified Aminul Haque as an outlaw and damaged his houses, property and tried to kill him. Aminul Haque escaped and saved his life.
Jatiya Gono Front central coordinator comrade Tipu Biswas, Gono Sanghoti central coordinator Zonayed Saki, Rajshahi coordinator Murad Murshad, Bangladesh Krisani Sova coordinator Omli Kisku, BSD Rajshhai coordinator Ashim Chakrabarti and Aminul Haque were present at the conference.
