ACC will continue drive under elected govt
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will continue its anti-corruption drive in joint collaboration with the next democratically elected government.
ACC chairman Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury announced this while addressing a meeting at Patuakhali Shilpakala Academy auditorium yesterday.
District administration organised the meeting titled, 'Taking Institutional Initiative to Stop Corruption.'
However, he said it will not be possible to work independently if the government does not want to do so. 'There is no compromise with corruption', he firmly said. 'We shall continue our anti-corruption drive anyhow', he said.
'The situation may change after the next Jatiya Sangsad elections but it will not detract us from our goal, rather our drives will go on in full swing during rule of the future government', he said.
'After release on bail, one should not think that he has been freed from all of his allegations,' he said.
