3 officials sued for illegal lease of govt land
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) here filed a case with Bhaluka Police Station yesterday accusing three government officials and an industrialist for leasing out 155.39 acres of uncultivable government land violating the official rules.
ACC assistant director Mozahar Ali Sarker filed the case against ex-deputy commissioner (DC) Enamul Kabir, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) HM Jahurul Haque, deputy collector of revenue of Mymensingh Kali Ranjan Barman and Mokarram Hossain Daradi, managing director of Mega Fisheries in Bhaluka upazila.
Because of the leasing, the government incurred a loss of Tk 1 crore 57 lakh and 52 thousand, ACC sources said.
Of the accused, Enamul Kabir and Jahurul Haque went on retirement while Kali Ranjan Barman is in service.
