Attack on ETV journos at Mymensingh
A team of journalists of Ekushey Television (ETV) came under attack of a gang of criminals at Gulpukurpar in the town yesterday when they were collecting information on Sumon murder happened in May 2006, police said.
Two persons-Saidul and Faruq- were arrested. Attackers tried to snatch away cameras of the ETV team.
As they went to Gulpukurpar to contact family members of Saidul, an accused in the murder case, he and his brother Faruq and others swooped on them. They confined ETV newsmen Abu Hasnat Moni and Zahid Selim in a room and threatened them with death. Locals rushed to the spot and caught both.
Being informed, Assistant Superintendent of Police Apel Mahmud rushed to the spot promptly, rescued the newsmen and arrested the two.
