Posts of dist polls officer, 5 upazila officers vacant in Kurigram
Posts of district election officer, five upazila election officers and some other posts are vacant in Kurigram.
The post of district election officer (DEO) is vacant since Md. Khatibar Rahman went in LPR on March 30. Sadar upazila Election Officer Md. Zelhas Uddin is in charge.
In Bhurungamari upazila, Assistant Commissioner (land) Rafiqul Islam is in charge of upazila election officer. In Fulbari upazila, steno-typist Noor Mohammad is holding the charge of upazila election officer, sources in district election office said.
Steno-typist Abdul Maleque discharges the duty of upazila election officer in Ulipur.
Chilmari Upazila Election Officer Al Mamun holds the additional charge of Rajibpur upazila election officer.
In Raumari, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Hanif Uddin is in charge of upazila election officer.
Besides, posts of upper division assistant, accounts assistant, office assistant, MLSS, night guard and sweeper are vacant in most uapzila election offices, they said.
Contacted, Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Md. Ashaduzzaman said he informed higher authorities about the situation.
