Khulna leaders demand security

Leaders of Khulna Awami League (AL) and four-party alliance have expressed their grave concern over the murder of prominent AL leader Khan Ibne Zaman at his city residence on Monday night. “We are concerned due to sudden rise of criminals in the City ahead of national elections. I have asked our party leaders to move with caution,” said City AL General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan. Party leaders and activists are now panicked after murder of Khan Ibne Zaman, Khulna district AL president Sheikh Harun-ar-Rashid said. In a press release issued yesterday, co-convenor of Khulna unit of BNP-led four-party alliance former lawmaker M Nurul Islam, city Ameer of Jamaat and former lawmaker Mian Golam Parwar, president of Khelafat Majlish Moulana Golam Kibria, member-secretary of Khulna city unit of four-party alliance Nazrul Islam Manju demanded necessary steps to ensure security the leaders of all political parties and stern action against criminals in the city. Condemning the gruesome murder of AL leader Khan Ibne Zaman, Jatiya Party (Ershad) organising secretary former lawmaker Abdul Gaffar Biswas has demanded security of political leaders.
