Bidisha, former wife of Jatiya Party (JP) President HM Ershad yesterday reiterated her determination to contest in the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections from Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) constituency. “Nobody can resist me from contesting elections either from Gaibandha-1 constituency or elsewhere,” she told this correspondent over cell phone. She blamed Ershad for inciting party men against her. Earlier, JP vice-chairman and former lawmaker Wahiduzzaman Sarker at a meeting of the party's pourasabha unit on October 5 declared they would not allow Bidisha to contest in polls from Sundarganj constituency. In another meeting of the party's upazila unit held at Bamondanga Club hall on October 8, JP organising secretary Col (retd) Abdul Kader Khan declared Bidisha 'unwanted' in Sundarganj.
