120 Atwari AL men sued for motorcade procession
About 120 Awami League (AL) leaders and activists of Atwari upazila in Panchagarh district including its president Abdur Rauf were sued for violating emergency powers act by brining out motorcade processions in three unions of the upazila on Tuesday, police said.
Atwary Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Aminul Islam filed the case against them for violating the emergency rules.
In reply to a query by this correspondent, Atwary upazila election officer Motiar Rahaman said they are investigating the matter. Proper action will be taken against the rule violators as per election rules-2008, he said.
