Protests on against demolition of Lalon statue
Protests are still going on in Magura, Moulvibazar, Rajshahi and Manikganj condemning demolition of Lalon statue at the airport roundabout in Dhaka recently.
Various socio-cultural and political organisations in the four districts formed human chains, held rallies and handed over memorandum to the administration yesterday and day before.
Udichi, Lalon Smriti Sangsad, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Shaheed Sangbadik Sirjuddin Smriti Parishad and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Parishad jointly formed a human chain in Magura town, said our Magura Correspondent.
Later, memorandums were handed over to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police.
Kanthabithi, a recital organisation, also organised a protest meeting at Sayed Ator Ali Public Library auditorium with Khan Mazharul Huq in the chair.
In Moulvibazar town, Charan Sangskritik Kendro, Bangladesh Chhatra Union and Bangladesh Jubo Union formed human chains, said our Moulvibazar Correspondent.
In Rajshahi city, Rajshahi Union of Journalist (RUJ), Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Rajshahi, Jubo Union and Charon Sangskritik Kendro formed separate human chains and held rallies in last two days.
In Manikganj town, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Udichi Shilpi Goshthi formed human chains, said our Manikganj Correspondent.
