College girl Rimu murder case shifted to CID after 11months

As police failed to find any clue to the murder of college girl Rimu in 11 months, the sensational case was shifted to CID yesterday. The case records were handed over to Senior ASP of CID Sylhet on orders from police headquarters,, official sources said. Investigation will be done under guidance of CID headquarters, they added. Meanwhile, the victim's family, fellow students and human rights activists have demanded immediate arrest of the killers and their punishment. Several of processions, rallies and human chains were held in last 11 months for arrest and punishment of the killers. Police recovered the body of Ferdousi Rumman Rimu, a student of 3rd year honours class at Madan Mohan College, contained in a suitcase, from Biswanath upazila on December 9 last year. Four days ahead of the incident, she went out of her home for college, but did not return. Failing to trace her, the victim's family lodged a GD with Kotwali police December 9. Daughter of Shah Nurul Afsar of Selborosh village in Dharampasha upazila in Sunamganj district, Rimu stay at a rented house a Sylhet city's Subidbazar area. Her father is an official of Krishi Bank at Biswambharpur in Sunamganj.
