53 Khulna jute workers sued
Khalishpur industrial belt has become tense again following pressing of three separate charge-sheets to court by police against 54 workers of Platinum Jubiliee Jute Mills, Crescent Jute Mills and People's Jute Mills.
Jute Mills Workers' Development Committee will go for tougher agitation within a week to demand withdrawal of the cases, said its convenor Gazi Masum Ahmed.
Most of the charge-sheeted workers who are now on bail were thrown out of jobs by managements of their mills for participating in last year's agitation.
