5 depts closed at Barisal Medical College
Five out of 32 departments of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) were closed down and six other departments are on the verge of closure due to teachers' shortage.
The closed departments are physical medicine, dentistry, urology endocrine, psychiatry and metabolic departments. Classes were suspended in these departments for a long time.
The departments which are facing closure are departments of forensic medicine, radiology, neurology, neuro surgery, blood transfusion and plastic surgery.
When contacted, SBMC principal Dr Zahid Hossain said the college authorities already informed the higher authorities about the problem but to no effect.
