Eviction from Padma embankment in Rajshahi soon
With expiry of a seven-day deadline given to the illegal grabbers, Rajshahi Water Development Board (WDB) is likely to go for legal actions to evict some 216 illegal occupiers of Rajshahi Town Protection Embankment in the city today.
“As the deadline has ended, we will now request the district and city administration for taking action to evict those grabbers,” said WDB Executive Engineer Habibur Rahman.
The WDB on October 22 lodged four separate complaints with the police against 216 grabbers in Rajpara, Boalia, Motihar thana of Rajshahi city and Paba upazila in the district. The accused include 100 shop-owners and 82 people who built houses.
