Offices of 7 parties not found in Khulna, Pabna
Teams from district election offices have found offices of seven registration seeking political parties as non-existent in Khulna and Pabna districts.
Following an official letter issued on October 14 from the Divisional Election Office, Khulna District Election office conducted a thorough search throughout Khulna city and district, reports our staff correspondent from Khulna.
Only three out of seven 'offices' of political parties could be located in Khulna city and district till Saturday, District Election Officer (DEO) Md Mujibar Rahman.
The DEO said his team failed to locate any office of 'Jatiya Nagorik Party' anywhere in the city and district.
Officials of Jibon Bima Corporation were found working in the office shown as the address of Jatiya Kalyan Party in Khulna city.
'Offices' of newly floated and registered political party 'Samajik Rajnoitik Andolan' were not found anywhere in the city and district except Phultala upazila.
The team, however, found to their surprise that vegetables were being sold in a room mentioned by the party as its Phultala upazila office.
The team could not locate offices mentioned by another political party named 'Oikkabaddho Nagorik Andolon' in any upazila of the district except the one at Haji Meher Ali Road in the city.

“We have already submitted a report on our findings to the EC in this regard recommending necessary action,” said DEO Mujibar Rahman.
Our Pabna correspondent adds: Election office in Pabna has failed to find offices of 'New Biplobi Workers Party', 'Jatiya Gonotantrik Party ' and 'National People's Party' although the three political parties applied for registration with the EC.
“Following instruction from the Election Commission, we investigated for the upazila level committee and offices of these parties but could not find their offices,” said Md Faridul Islam, District Election Officer of Pabna.
In the application submitted for registration, 'New Biplobi Workers Party' informed the EC of their upazila unit committee in Bera upazila under Pabna district and a party office at Jordaha village in Bera upazila under the district. Pabna district election office investigated to verify the matter but they could not find the party office at the mentioned spot.
'Jatiya Gonotantrik Party' informed the EC about their upazila committee in Sujanagar upazila and office at village Sayedpur of the upazila. But the party office was found to be non-existent, officials said.
'National People's Party' informed the EC of their Bera upazila committee and its office but the party office was found to be non-existent.
“We are also investigating about information provided by some other political parties,” the district election officer said.
