5 milk collection centres fined for failure to show registration paper

A mobile court yesterday realised Tk 69 thousand as fine from a few milk collection centres and milk traders at Demra Bazar in Faridpur upazila under the district as the centres failed to show registration documents and medical fitness certificates for staff. During the drive led by Faridpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Emteaz Hossain, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Khalilur Rahman the mobile court fined Tk 10 thousand each from the milk collection centres of 'Pran Dairy Ltd', Brac, Akiz Food and Beverage, Aftab Milk Products in Demra Bazar of Faridpur upazila. “When we asked the milk collection centres to show the registration documents of their establishments and the medical fitness certificates of their staffs, they failed to show those papers. So the mobile court fined them,” Faridpur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Khalilur Rahman told this correspondent over phone yesterday. The mobile court also fined Rabindra Ghosh, Md Shajahan Ali and Dulal Chandra Ghosh of Tk 8 thousand each for manufacturing chhana in unhygienic way at Demra Bazar. “We are trying to nab the culprits who are allegedly involved in manufacturing spurious milk. We have also collected the list of milk suppliers from the milk selling centres for investigation,” the health officer said.
