Minu sent to hospital

Jailed BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu was admitted to hospital yesterday evening as he was suffering from acute headache and high blood pressure. He was undergoing treatment at prison cell of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) under Dr Saifuddin Ekram. “We sent him to RMCH when his condition was deteriorating at jail hospital”, said Harun-ur Rashid, senior superintendent of jail police. “He is facing acute headache and blood pressure. He is under close watch”, said Dr Saifuddin. Minu, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, was convicted for 10 years in an extortion case. His family sources said, he sought stay against his conviction and bail in the case in the High Court. Hearing of his bail prayer is scheduled for in this week.
