BNP, Jamaat demand release of Saifur, Nizami
In protest against sending the BNP and Jamaat stalwarts to jail, Sylhet city BNP and Jamat-e-Islami took out separate processions and held brief rallies in the city last night.
The city BNP's procession started from Central Shahid Minar and terminated at the court point. City BNP chief Nasim Hossain chaired the brief rally held at the Shahid Mianr prior to the procession.
The speakers demanded immediate release of senior leaders of the 4-party alliance and said the government should not 'create any situation that will bring uncertainty”.
Jamat took out a procession from the Court Point, which terminated at Chouhatta. Former city Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman chaired the rally.
