Muslims in Philippines
A couple of days ago I was reading a news item in your newspaper that around ten Muslim rebels were killed in a six-hour fire fight in the southern Philippines. They were recognized as the members of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). However, there were no casualties on the government side, while 15 other MILF rebels were wounded.
What would have been the role of the UN if any rebel group wanted freedom from any Muslim majority country?
The President of the Philippines, Gloria Arroyo, should take necessary steps to unravel this conflict, so that people all over the region can lead a peaceful life.
