BTV programmes

Abdur Rob, Gandaria, Dhaka
I personally endorse the views expressed by Mr Aiman Bin- Shaofiqul Hamid (Jasim), Dept of English International Islamic University, Chittagong. Mr Hamid rightly pointed out and adequately focused on the performance, activities and setback of BTV. Unquestionably, BTV is practically the largest information and presentation house run by the Ministry of Information and Culture. Its activities are to patronise, cultivate and represent the ground information about the past, present Bangladeshi culture focusing on the lives of the people living in urban and rural areas. It is also observed with equal concern that BTV usually does no engage or let the celebrated artists to perform or participate in its programmes. BTV's selection of artists in different programmes like news-casting, drama, cultural activities etc in a way project that the authorities are either not professionally-oriented or probably biased towards certain quarters. We hope that BTV will stop all such activities and create a trend to facilitate the old celebrated artists to grace its programmes.
