Tigers' tantrums!

S.A. Mansoor, Dhaka
An interesting report from South Africa was published in a local daily's sports pages on 23rd November. It was indeed a very sad and sorry state of affairs for our "always defeated" cricket team, now on tour there. The docile "Tigers" after being slaughtered by the South African "Lions" could only show their "rusty and blunt" teeth at the keen and may be, impatient settlers of Bangladeshi origin, who went to see them after their Test debacle. Having forgotten the basics of playing cricket; they also managed to forget that it's a game played by gentlemen! This only adds to their miserable record, both on and now off the field, for the Tigers(?)! Even if they were called names, for their awful bowling and fielding after the one-dayer, then it was possibly well deserved! No wonder Bangladesh has the dubious distinction of all best batting, bowling and possibly fielding records being made against them, by their opponents! All this only adds to the frustration of their fans, and humiliation for the members of the Bangladesh cricket team. Time has come to rename them as "Lambs". They do not deserve to be called "Tigers" any longer. Maybe the Bangladesh variety of "Tigers" has the longest batting "tail" on record-- starting from the openers! It seems that international competitive cricket is not their "cup of tea"; rather it's a "bitter laxative" that they have to swallow, match after match!
