Party rivals form body to 'resist' Akbar in Sreepur

Political situation in Magura has become tense again over nomination of former Awami League (AL) lawmaker Dr. MS Akbar' from Magura-1 (Magura sadar and Sreepur upazila) constituency again for the coming polls. Rival party men in Sreepur upazila at a meeting yesterday formed a 10-member 'resistance committee' to obstruct Dr. Akbar from visiting the upazila, party sources said. They also announced a 12-day agitation progammee to protest Akbar's nomination. The programmes include hunger strike and procession, party sources said.
